Construction and demolition waste is a significant environmental concern, given the sheer volume and composition of materials generated from these activities. However, with the right measures in place, it’s possible to mitigate the negative impact on the environment and public health.
That’s where we come in.
Wheelie bins for construction and demolition waste
At RTS, we provide specialised waste management services for construction and demolition sites, which includes fast and thorough removal of waste. We use industry standard on-site wheelie bins and dustcarts, as well as advanced features like dust suppression to ensure efficient and effective waste management.
Let’s delve a little deeper into construction and demolition waste collection by RTS.
The RTS difference in construction and demolition waste removal
One of the features that sets us apart from the rest is the atomization, or dust suppression technology we fit on our dustcarts. This technology is crucial in preventing airborne particulates, which could cause health problems like silicosis, especially when workers are exposed to dust from materials like sandstone and concrete for extended periods.
Fully accredited
We are also proud to be PAS402 accredited, which means we offer complete transparency on how we handle your waste. Our figures are audited by an external governing body, giving you peace of mind that we handle your waste responsibly.
What we can and can’t collect
What we can collect
At RTS, we’re well-equipped to handle all types of construction and demolition waste, including a wide range of materials such as:
- Plasterboard
- Wood
- Metal
- Plastic
- Insulation
- Hardcore
- Inert
- Paper
- Cardboard
…just to name a few.
What we can't collect
Simply: any and all hazardous waste – asbestos, for example.
Construction and demolition waste – Where does it all go?
When you entrust your construction and demolition waste to RTS, you can rest assured that it will be treated responsibly and sustainably.
After collecting the waste from your site, we take it back to our state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where it undergoes a thorough sorting and deconstruction and separating process.
Our recycling protocol
We also strive to recycle as much of the waste as possible – sending each waste stream to its respective recycler for reuse and recycling. In the unlikely event that there is any waste left over, we ensure it is treated through thermal measures, essentially converting the waste into energy, and helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Here’s to a greener future.
Daily waste collection in London, Kent, & Surrey
We operate across London, Kent, and Surrey.
Our construction and demolition waste services are available for daily collections, ensuring that waste is managed efficiently and effectively.
The RTS touch
We understand that not all waste is created equal – each project generates different types and quantities. So, we offer customised waste management solutions tailored to your specific needs.
What’s more, by using our specialised waste management services, construction and demolition sites can reduce their impact on the environment and public health, while also ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
